Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000 / annual
River Financial is building a trusted financial institution enabling people to take ownership of their financial lives through Bitcoin. The company has raised over $50 million from leading investors including Goldcrest, Kingsway, Polychain, M13, DG, and Valor, and publicly shares financials and proof of reserves.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a leader on the engineering team, setting high standards for quality and mentoring others. You will architect and develop new features and products in the Elixir codebase powering web applications and APIs. Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and develop new features and products in the Elixir codebase
- Work cross-functionally to plan and scope new projects and initiatives
- Present innovative solutions to senior leadership, aligning engineering initiatives with company goals
- Own solving ambiguous technical and business problems, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Ship high-quality, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
- Act as a key influencer and mentor, fostering a culture of excellence
- Proactively identify and eliminate technical roadblocks
The tech stack consists of Elixir, React, and Postgres. You will work 100% remotely with flexibility across the Americas and Europe, with offices available in SF, NYC, and Columbus.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Designed, built, and maintained production services at scale with understanding of reliable system architecture
- Write high-quality, reliable code and take ownership of systems
- Experience developing solutions to ambiguous problems
- Deep understanding of web and database fundamentals
- Desire to mentor and lift up team members
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Genuine excitement about River's mission
