Fabric Health is a healthcare technology company solving clinical capacity challenges through intelligent automation. The company unifies the care journey from intake to treatment, making care delivery 2-10x more efficient while empowering clinicians to focus on patient care. Trusted by leading health systems including Intermountain Health, OSF HealthCare, SSM Health, and MUSC Health, and backed by premier investors like Thrive Capital, GV (Google Ventures), General Catalyst, and Salesforce Ventures. As Staff Software Engineer on the Applied AI team, you will be the durable owner of all application surfaces for a live, patient-facing clinical product. This includes an embeddable widget patients interact with, a clinician portal, and a Python service layer connecting them. Much of the current system was built quickly by a small team and needs a seasoned owner to make it production-grade before adding new features. Your responsibilities span the full stack: owning end-to-end application architecture decisions, building and operating the application work supporting AI Intake (encounter plumbing, data flow, partner platform integrations, and customer-facing surfaces), managing internal tools for your team and clinicians, and partnering closely with AI/ML engineers to keep application and model work coordinated. You'll ship and version shared surfaces that other teams depend on, maintain dependencies, and mentor earlier-career engineers. The tech stack is TypeScript and React for frontend, Python for backend services. The team emphasizes test coverage, written thinking, and AI coding tools. You should be a strong full-stack engineer fluent from React widgets through Python services and data layers, capable of making sound architectural decisions across the stack. You'll need genuine partnership capability with data scientists—understanding LLM application development, prompts, evaluation, and latency/cost tradeoffs without owning models yourself. Expectations: ramp fast with meaningful contributions to widget, portal, and service layer in month one; own platform initiatives and review application-side design decisions by month three; deliver end-to-end initiatives and develop junior engineers by month six.
