Twilio is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join the Threat Detection and Response team. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on designing and building security tooling, threat detection systems, and incident response automation at scale.
You will own critical security engineering responsibilities including on-call rotation, architecting detective tooling and automation, threat modeling for applications and systems, and leading incident response activities. The role emphasizes building scalable, well-engineered solutions that simplify complex security problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and developing performant detective tooling and automation for threat mitigation
- Participating in applications/systems threat modeling and incident response
- Defining and executing the Detection and Response vision and multi-year roadmaps
- Conducting security and technology research to understand the Twilio platform and defense strategies
- Building systems that make complex security problems simple and frictionless
- Mentoring and supporting team members to enable long-term career development
- Cross-functional collaboration to understand and solve challenges related to threat actors and activity
- Proactively identifying improvements to the incident response program aligned with business objectives
Required qualifications include 3+ years of security engineering in production cloud environments, subject-matter expertise in security issues and technologies, experience designing and building AI agents and agentic workflows, and the ability to utilize AI for comprehensive threat hunting with high-fidelity detections.
