Salary: USD 70,000 - 110,000 / annual
EliseAI is a Series E-funded AI company transforming housing and healthcare through agentic AI. The Future Platforms team is building the next generation of autonomous operations products for multifamily housing.
As Staff Property Accountant, you will be the in-house authority on multifamily accounting, ensuring accounting integrity across features that touch client resident ledgers and accounting workflows. You'll work at the intersection of product, operations, and accounting expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on core multifamily accounting scenarios: rent treatment, concessions, deposits/refunds, subsidies/HAP, delinquencies, utilities, move-in/out, and month-end close procedures
- Translating real-world accounting workflows into clear product requirements and acceptance tests
- Validating calculations, allocations, adjustments, and charge/credit logic for accuracy and explainability
- Leading testing and UAT with client accountants to confirm outputs reconcile correctly
- Establishing consistent event lifecycles, terminology, and reference guides for controllers and onsite teams
- Capturing patterns and edge cases from enterprise customers into durable standards and playbooks
You'll need 2-4 years in multifamily property accounting or controllership at a PMC, owner-operator, or REIT. Deep knowledge of GL & sub-ledgers, resident ledgers, deposits, close procedures, and US GAAP is essential. Strong communication skills with accounting, operations, and leasing teams required. Willingness to work in-office 4-5 days per week.
Preferred: SaaS/software experience, familiarity with leading multifamily systems, knowledge of AI and automation in accounting workflows.
