Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building energy-efficient solutions to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. The company operates across the full stack—from electrons to tokens—and is rapidly scaling its Cloud Engineering organization from 380 to 550 people.
This Staff Program Manager role owns the people and operations layer of Cloud Engineering end-to-end. You will replace manual, spreadsheet-driven processes with systematic, scalable operating machinery that keeps a fast-growing engineering organization legible and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Headcount & Requisition Operations: Own the headcount plan of record for Cloud Engineering, reconciling data across TeamOhana, Workday, and Finance into a single source of truth. Run intake and prioritization for new and backfill requisitions, flag capacity gaps proactively, and build the requisition intake SOP. Produce and maintain org charts and span-of-control views. Coordinate interview machinery around engineering reqs, including panel construction, interviewer capacity, and scorecard completion.
All-Hands & Org Events: Own Cloud Engineering All-Hands coordination end-to-end—from topic bids and agenda to speaker strategy, deck production, and Q&A follow-up. Measure attendance, participation, and satisfaction trends. Drive adoption of engineering tech talks, site-specific all-hands, and social programming across San Francisco, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and new sites.
People Programs: Own the intern and early-career program for Cloud Engineering, including request cycles, offers, mentor matching, performance tracking, and full-time conversion. Stand up pipelines at new sites. Drive adoption of manager training and enablement. Build functional onboarding programs for engineers and engineering managers, measuring satisfaction. Partner with HR on engagement surveys, pulse cycles, and recruiting MBRs.
Operating Rhythm & Program Hygiene: Own operating programs and planning calendars for the Chief of Staff organization—staff meetings, reviews, planning cycles, and offsites. Produce recurring leadership updates and executive readouts.
Systems & Automation: Treat every recurring chase as a defect to be automated. Own Sheets, Docs, Jira, and Confluence artifacts, including structure, access, and hygiene. Migrate onto real systems where they exist. Build repeatable playbooks any program manager or engineering manager can execute. Own communications and change-management plans for rollouts, with adoption as the deliverable.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in program management, business operations, or people operations, including time supporting a large engineering or infrastructure organization through fast growth
- Direct experience owning headcount or workforce planning operations: requisitions, position management, and reconciliation across Finance, Talent, and business leadership
- Track record running an all-hands or comparable large-audience program for an organization of 500+, with evidence of improvement beyond delivery
- Advanced spreadsheet skill and real automation instinct: Apps Script, APIs, AI-assisted tooling, or equivalent; demonstrated history of automating manual processes
- Ability to chase senior people without being resented; engineering leaders respond because you are precise about what you need, why, and by when
- Comfort with ambiguity and volume; ability to inherit live programs with incomplete documentation
- Excellent written communication; ability to send a single message that makes forty people do the right thing without a meeting
- Low ego, high drive; willingness to book rooms and redesign processes
Bonus: Experience in high-growth cloud, AI infrastructure, or data center environments; launching intern/early-career pipelines at new sites; interviewer enablement or interview process design at scale; change management and stakeholder communications for operating-model rollouts; working knowledge of Ashby, Workday, TeamOhana, Jira, Confluence, Grafana, or Sigma; experience managing program/event budgets or managing a small team.
