As Staff Product Manager for Bare Metal, you will own the strategy and outcomes for a brand-new initiative: Crusoe's bare metal offering, which provides AI-native companies direct GPU and CPU access for demanding training and inference workloads. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, spanning compute, networking, observability, and management. You will define the problem space while operating in ambiguity, supported by senior leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the vision and roadmap for bare metal compute, encompassing GPU/CPU offerings, rapid provisioning systems, and full lifecycle management
- Designing end-to-end customer experience and operational processes (ticketing, escalation, incident handling) in partnership with Infrastructure Operations and Customer Support
- Ensuring alignment between hardware and software layers to deliver a differentiated bare metal experience
- Leading cross-functional initiatives across engineering and infra-ops to deliver provisioning, observability, and self-service capabilities
- Synthesizing customer feedback and market insights to inform roadmap priorities and ensure product-market fit
- Representing bare metal strategy to partners and executives, framing technical decisions within business context
This role blends product management, solutions architecture, and process design. You will need technical depth spanning hardware, firmware, and operating system layers (e.g., BMC, secure boot) as well as process rigor to design operational behavior.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in cloud and computing technology
- 4+ years in product management focused on infrastructure or platform products
- Track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives through ambiguity
- Direct experience at the hardware and firmware level (not necessarily as an engineer, but hands-on exposure required)
- Demonstrated ability to design and formalize operational processes (support workflows, ticketing, incident handling)
- Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware, bare metal provisioning, distributed systems, networking, and large-scale fleet operations
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguous, ill-defined problem spaces and drive long-term vision while balancing technical constraints and business outcomes
- Strong communication skills to articulate deep technical complexity to executives and translate business goals into product direction
BONUS:
- Experience with large-scale GPU/CPU AI infrastructure platforms or hyperscale/cloud operations
- Familiarity with IPMI/BMC protocols, infrastructure automation tools, or bare metal provisioning frameworks
- Understanding of GPU-based AI workloads and their specific demands on compute and network infrastructure
