Checkr is a data platform powering safe and fair decisions, trusted by 140,000+ companies including Uber, Airbnb, and Doordash for AI-powered verification. The company is on the Forbes Cloud 100 2025 list and recognized as a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company. Truv by Checkr is a specialized product delivering real-time income and employment verification to government agencies. State Departments of Health, Social Services, and Health and Human Services use the platform to verify eligibility for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, and child support, replacing manual, paper-heavy processes with modern API-first infrastructure. As Staff Product Manager for Truv's government business, you will own the end-to-end client experience from contract signature through go-live and sustained adoption, with a primary focus on activation. You'll make it dramatically faster and easier for agencies, system integrators, and their developers to achieve live verifications and maintain ongoing value. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the complete activation journey: onboarding, implementation, configuration, go-live, and post-launch adoption. Partner with Sales to ensure demos set agencies up for success, and build toward self-serve experiences. - Identifying and removing bottlenecks between contract and first live production verification—whether technical, procedural, or organizational—through shipped products. - Designing configuration and customization capabilities in the Truv dashboard for agency administrators, caseworkers, and technical teams. - Elevating the developer and integrator experience by partnering with agency IT teams, system integrators, and eligibility system vendors on documentation, sandbox environments, best practices, and implementation tooling. - Defining activation and adoption metrics, building visibility for internal teams and clients, and using data and client behavior to prioritize rapid post-launch improvements. - Running user research and usability testing with agency staff and end users; gathering feedback from implementation and go-live to inform prioritized product plans. - Partnering with compliance, legal, and security teams to ensure onboarding and data flows meet public sector requirements. - Leading through influence across product, engineering, design, implementation, customer success, sales, and marketing to align around a shared activation strategy. Mentor other PMs and raise the bar for product craft. Success will be measured by reduced time from contract to go-live, higher activation and adoption rates, greater self-serve completion, improved verification conversion and reliability in live deployments, positive client and partner feedback, and on-time high-quality launches. Checkr operates from hub locations in Denver, San Francisco, Nashville, and Santiago. The role expects 3+ days per week in-office presence, with in-office perks including lunch five times weekly, commuter stipend, and snacks/beverages. A relocation stipend may be available. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. - 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of B2B or B2G onboarding, activation, implementation, or developer experience products. - Experience shipping products in regulated, multi-stakeholder environments (government, healthcare, insurance, or financial services) where compliance, security, or third-party partners shaped product decisions. - Demonstrated record of improving time-to-value metrics (time to go-live, activation rate, adoption depth) with quantified results, and analytical skill to define the right metrics and translate data into product changes. - Comfort with technical products; ability to partner closely with engineers and speak credibly with client developers about APIs, integrations, and configuration. - Hands-on experience with user research, usability testing, and experimentation where appropriate. - Excellent operator who manages competing priorities, synthesizes input from many stakeholders, and delivers in fast-paced environments. - Clear, structured written and verbal communication with diverse audiences from agency executives to caseworkers to engineers. STRONG PLUS: - Record of delivering products used by state or federal agencies. - Experience with public benefits programs (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, child support) or eligibility systems. - Experience at a startup or high-growth company.
