Affirm is building its own bank and seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the end-to-end bank product strategy and execution. This is a rare opportunity to build a foundational new business line from the ground up, reshaping how Affirm funds, serves, and grows relationships with consumers. You will serve as the single-threaded product owner across deposits, loan originations, banking compliance, and operations, holding the full picture of how the bank works within Affirm's ecosystem. Your responsibilities include: - Owning the complete deposit product roadmap from early launch through scaling to a multi-billion-dollar deposit base, making strategic decisions about integration with Affirm's credit products and broader consumer experience - Partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Branding, Content, and Design to shape the consumer deposit experience and go-to-market strategy, including positioning, launch sequencing, and consumer-facing messaging - Collaborating with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and the Bank's executive team to drive bank operations readiness—regulatory readiness, process maturity, and vendor selection and integration (deposit core, fraud, KYC) - Communicating strategy and tradeoffs to senior leadership and the Bank Board, building alignment across Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, and Capital Markets - Working at the intersection of regulated banking, platform engineering, and consumer products Required qualifications include 6+ years of product management experience with demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic, independent leader on complex, ambiguous initiatives. You need experience growing or launching a regulated consumer-facing product in financial services with go-to-market experience, and proven program leadership at scale with high-visibility cross-functional launches. Strong technical fluency is essential—comfort working with engineers on system design, data models, API architecture, and core banking platform integrations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical for distilling complex regulatory and financial concepts for diverse audiences including regulators, executives, and engineering teams. Proficiency with AI-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor) to accelerate work is expected. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience required.
