Kin Insurance is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the vision for how Kin's products connect and drive customer attachment—turning single-product customers into multi-product homeowners. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports; impact comes from the quality of thinking and influence, not team management.
You'll own the highest-stakes, most ambiguous growth problems that span multiple products. Your first major initiative: a ground-up rebuild of the sales agent UI to help agents move faster and close more effectively. Beyond that, you'll shape how new products get introduced and sold alongside existing customer coverage, making attachment and cross-sell moments feel like one seamless journey rather than separate transactions.
Key responsibilities include framing and leading cross-product growth challenges, owning the design vision for the sales agent UI from problem definition through shipped experience, setting craft standards for the growth domain, and bringing design perspective into strategy and roadmap conversations. You'll strengthen how the growth team tests and learns, ensuring wins compound, and leverage AI tools as core enablers for faster exploration and prototyping.
Success in the first 12 months means shipping a sales agent UI that demonstrably improves agent speed, creating seamless attachment experiences across products, earning early inclusion in growth bets at the strategic level, driving measurable attachment improvements or decisive learnings, and establishing repeatable processes for testing and shipping design work.
You bring a track record of owning ambiguous, cross-cutting problems end-to-end and setting direction where none existed. You're business-fluent, tying design decisions to leadership outcomes and making quality-versus-speed tradeoffs transparently. You have influence that travels—bringing partners along without formal authority—and strong instincts for data and measurement. Bonus experience includes designing tools for internal or expert users (agents, ops, sales) where speed and accuracy matter, or background in insurance, fintech, or regulated domains.
