Zscaler is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead the evolution of its design system. You'll work on creating and refining scalable components, patterns, tokens, and documentation that ensure consistency and excellence across all Zscaler products. This role sits within Product Management, reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Design, and requires close collaboration with Design, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to set visual, interaction, and structural standards. Key responsibilities include: - Creating and refining scalable components and patterns for adaptability and consistency - Contributing end-to-end to the Zscaler Design System, including tokens, components, patterns, documentation, and governance - Leveraging AI-powered tools (Claude Code, Cursor) to generate, iterate on, and launch prototypes and products - Accelerating the idea-to-shipped-pattern cycle through documentation automation and design-to-code handoff improvements You'll be expected to act as an owner with a strong bias for action, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution. The role demands a continuous learner with a growth mindset, someone who thinks at scale and connects daily design work to global company objectives. Required qualifications: - 8-10 years of Product Design experience, with 2+ years scaling enterprise-grade Design Systems - Portfolio demonstrating component libraries, user guidelines, and adoption strategies - Deep fluency in token architecture, theming, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design - Strong understanding of front-end constraints and ability to read/understand code - Extensive Figma (or equivalent) experience for component development - Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools Preferred: experience designing systems for cybersecurity, infrastructure, or developer tools; AI-powered automation for design workflows; ability to solve complex design challenges at scale.
