Join Okta's Emerging Products Design Team as a Staff Product Designer focused on Auth0. This role sits within an org pillar dedicated to exploring what's next in identity and AI security. You'll design systems that help developers secure AI agents, manage granular permissions, and build on identity primitives that don't yet fully exist.
The team operates with a unique structure: engineers, product managers, and designers work on the same problems simultaneously with no traditional design-then-build sequence. This means you'll be embedded in rapid iteration cycles where speed and quality must coexist.
Your responsibilities center on systems thinking, design taste, quality standards, and customer advocacy. As AI tools democratize UI generation, your role shifts to being the keeper of the quality bar—ensuring that speed doesn't compromise experience or coherence. You'll hold strong opinions on what "good" looks like when everyone on the team can generate interfaces.
Key activities include: prototyping at volume using AI tools and code to explore dozens of directions quickly, then narrowing based on what solves the actual problem; designing in the codebase within React and Next.js environments to refine components and interactions where users experience them; and simplifying complexity by turning authorization models, SDK patterns, and security flows into clear, precise interfaces.
