Salary: USD 150,000 - 190,000 / annual

As Staff Product Designer, you'll lead design across Stepful's student, instructor, and coach platforms, as well as new partner products. You'll autonomously define design opportunities and methodologies—from research and user flows to high-fidelity prototypes—across native and web applications. Your responsibilities include leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions, collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, growth, and operations teams, and owning the evolution of Stepful's design system.
You'll need 8+ years of product design experience across mobile and web platforms, with deep technical understanding of how digital products work and how to partner effectively with engineering. You should excel at end-to-end product thinking (not waterfall), applying diverse design skills from design thinking to service design. Experience driving user research, understanding pain points, and informing product strategy is essential. You must build strong relationships, influence decisions across teams, and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Bonus experience includes startup background (especially B2B2C or B2C EdTech/Healthcare), A/B testing, and data-driven product development. The role is based in Stepful's SoHo office in NYC and requires an onsite interview. Portfolio submission is mandatory.
