Preply is a unicorn edtech platform (Series D, $150M) that connects 100,000+ tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners across 180 countries. The company is building human-led, AI-enhanced learning experiences at global scale.
As a Staff Product Designer, you'll take on some of Preply's most complex and ambitious product challenges. This is a highly independent, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll shape product vision and strategy in close partnership with Product and Engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Co-create product vision and strategy with Product and Engineering, bringing a strong design perspective to priorities and opportunities.
- Own complex, high-impact work end-to-end, from shaping direction through shipping the experience, with a high degree of independence.
- Create bold, differentiating experiences with exceptional interaction and visual craft, thoughtful judgment, and a clear point of view.
- Coach and mentor other designers, influence teams beyond your immediate area, and help evolve design practices and standards across the organization.
- Bring an intentional approach to AI in your design practice—knowing where it adds value, where it introduces noise, and how to judge output quality.
You'll work on consumer-facing, mobile-first products at scale, exploring alternatives, noticing details others miss, and pushing beyond the obvious to create experiences that feel distinctly Preply.
Benefits include a generous monthly allowance for Preply lessons, Learning & Development budget, competitive financial package with equity, health insurance, free mental and physical health support, and time off for self-development.
Requirements:
- Staff, Lead, or equivalent experience in a mature product design organization, working on consumer-facing, mobile-first products at scale.
- Track record of shaping product vision and strategy (not just executing against it) in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
- Exceptional interaction and visual craft with strong product judgment, clear point of view, and experimental mindset.
- Demonstrated impact beyond your own work—coaching designers, raising the craft bar, influencing how teams work.
- Intentional approach to AI in design practice.
