Preply is a unicorn edtech platform (Series D, $150M) transforming language learning through human-led, AI-enhanced experiences. With 100,000+ tutors teaching 90+ languages to learners across 180 countries, the company is scaling rapidly and redefining the future of education.
As a Staff Product Designer, you will take on some of Preply's most complex and ambitious product challenges. This is a highly independent, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll shape product vision and strategy in close partnership with Product and Engineering leadership. You'll own high-impact, greenfield initiatives end-to-end—from defining direction through shipping exceptional experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-creating product vision and strategy with Product and Engineering, bringing a strong design perspective to priorities and opportunities.
- Owning complex work end-to-end with a high degree of independence, from vision-setting through shipped experience.
- Creating bold, differentiating experiences with exceptional interaction and visual craft, thoughtful judgment, and a clear point of view.
- Multiplying impact by coaching and mentoring other designers, influencing teams beyond your immediate area, and evolving design practices and standards across Preply.
You'll work on consumer-facing, mobile-first products at scale, with the opportunity to shape learning experiences for millions of people globally. The role includes a generous monthly Preply lesson allowance, Learning & Development budget, competitive equity package, health insurance, mental and physical health support, and flexible time off for self-development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Staff, Lead, or equivalent experience in a mature product design organization, working on consumer-facing, mobile-first products at scale.
- Proven track record of shaping product vision and strategy (not just executing against it) in close partnership with Product and Engineering.
- Exceptional interaction and visual craft with strong product judgment, clear point of view, and experimental mindset.
- Demonstrated impact beyond your own work: coaching designers, raising craft standards, and influencing how teams operate.
- Intentional approach to AI in design practice—knowing where it adds value, where it introduces noise, and how to judge output quality.
