OpenSea is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead design initiatives across its web3 platform, where users discover, trade, and interact with NFTs, fungible tokens, and digital assets. This is a high-impact individual contributor role on a small, fast-moving design team at a foundational crypto infrastructure company. You will own complex, ambiguous product problems end-to-end—from concept through launch—collaborating closely with engineers and fellow designers. Your responsibilities include defining user experiences across mobile and web, conducting research and prototyping to validate design directions, and maintaining a high bar for visual quality and brand expression. You'll contribute to and evolve OpenSea's design system, helping the team build more effectively through emerging AI-powered tools and workflows. Beyond execution, you'll shape design culture by modeling strong craft, collaboration, and curiosity, and communicate design rationale clearly across disciplines to align teams. The role requires 7+ years of product design experience spanning consumer and platform-facing products, with demonstrated ability to own ambiguous problem spaces and turn them into elegant solutions. You should have strong product sense, deep mobile-first design expertise, and exceptional visual and interaction design skills backed by a portfolio showing systems thinking and meticulous attention to detail. Experience building or scaling design systems, collaborating with engineers on technically informed designs, and leveraging AI tools to improve team effectiveness is essential. You'll need breadth across UI, UX, motion, and interaction design, with particular strength in visual design and craft. Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional partners are required. OpenSea is remote-first by design and AI-empowered by default. The team is small but talent-dense, hands-on, and fast-moving, with values centered on ownership, trust, and progress. Compensation ranges from $175,000–$275,000 USD (US-based) or €148,750–€233,750 (EU-based), plus comprehensive benefits including 100% medical/dental/vision coverage, flexible time off, 16 weeks paid parental leave, mental health support, and home office stipends.
