You will own Agent Experience (AX) end-to-end—designing the complete loop where agents deploy, humans review, agents recover from errors, and humans grant precise access. This spans programmatic surfaces (CLI, API, MCP, SDKs, Blueprints, Skills) and web UI where humans supervise and trust agent work. The role requires craft across both domains: most designers excel at one; Render wants someone strong on both.
Key responsibilities include: (1) Designing the full programmatic interface so agents operate Render coherently across all entry points, with consistent interaction models and error language that agents can parse and recover from; (2) Treating documentation (Blueprints, Skills, reference material) as an agent-facing product surface, not just human-readable guides; (3) Designing configuration-first onboarding paths where the entire system is code-deployed in one motion, closing the gap where agents can't operate UI-only flows; (4) Creating dashboard and supervision surfaces where humans review agent work, see what happened, and decide whether to trust it.
The role inherits signal: an AX audit and scoring framework, a developer community that already trusts the product, and a design team treating agent experience as a first-class discipline. You'll design three interconnected areas: agent-native interfaces, human-agent handoffs with supervision and trust, and governance (access scoping and revocation). This is design leading the company's strongest bet, not following it.
