Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is seeking a Staff People Business Partner to lead People partnership across its G&A function—Finance, People, and the Office of the CEO. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Chief People Officer, this role sits at the strategic center of how Clio operates, shaping People strategy rather than simply executing it.
As a principal advisor to C-suite leaders and their teams, you will influence company-wide People programs and set the standard for exceptional People partnership. You bring a multi-year lens to organizational health, talent strategy, and business transformation, anticipating challenges before they surface and driving proactive, lasting solutions. Your work spans Finance, People operations, and executive strategy—giving your insights unusual organizational reach.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategic Business Partnership**: Serve as the principal People advisor to the CFO and CPO on consequential organizational decisions. Partner with the Office of the CEO on company-wide priorities and executive-level initiatives, ensuring People implications are surfaced early. Drive multi-year People strategy for Finance, People, and OCEO, connecting business trajectory, organizational health, and talent imperatives. Influence company-wide People priorities by surfacing patterns, risks, and opportunities. Anticipate second- and third-order organizational effects of strategic decisions and proactively shape plans. Prepare executives for board, audit committee, and leadership forums where People and workforce topics are in scope.
**Organizational Architecture & Transformation**: Lead complex, multi-phase organizational design efforts including operating model transformation, large-scale restructures, and integration of newly formed or acquired teams. Serve as the go-to expert on organizational architecture for G&A, advising on spans, layers, structural interdependencies, and shared-service models. Partner with the CFO and CPO to design organizations that scale efficiently, balancing cost discipline with capability. Partner with leaders to evolve organizational models in anticipation of growth or strategic pivots. Apply systems-level thinking to identify root causes and structural solutions. Support leadership development, manager capability, and team effectiveness programs.
You are a seasoned People leader who operates seamlessly between strategic and structural thinking. You have proven track record advising C-suite and frontline leaders with confidence, bringing genuine organizational insight beyond process and compliance. You understand how Finance enables scale and accountability, how the People function builds leaders and culture, and how the Office of the CEO converts strategy into execution. You move fluidly between contexts, building trusted relationships while holding the organizational People perspective. You are comfortable being a genuine peer and challenger to executives, delivering hard messages without hedging, and separating what leaders want to hear from what the organization needs. You navigate complex organizational situations with clarity, calm, and principle, and are a trusted voice across People and business leadership.
