Salary: USD 152,100 - 190,100 / annual
Archer Technologies is scaling production of its all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. As a Staff Manufacturing Engineer on the Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) team, you will establish and maintain standardized manufacturing methods and best practices across the organization, serving as a technical authority that bridges aircraft design and production execution.
Your primary responsibility is to unify methods and standards across Archer, consolidating complex processes into a central, version-controlled knowledge base. You will work cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Certification, Industrialization, Facilities, and Operations teams to define scalable manufacturing solutions.
Key responsibilities include: developing and documenting standardized manufacturing engineering methods and best practices; defining common frameworks for manufacturing planning, process definition, work instruction structure, and build readiness across development, certification, and production phases; leading facility planning standards definition (space allocation, line layouts, material flow, infrastructure); standardizing tooling and ground support equipment (GSE) requirements; developing approaches for test and functional test equipment aligned with build sequencing and certification; ensuring standards adoption through governance and continuous improvement; and mentoring MDE engineers to enable consistent execution across programs.
You will need 8+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent in similarly complex, regulated environments. Required expertise includes hands-on manufacturing planning, process definition, work instructions, tooling, and production support. You must demonstrate proven ability to define and implement standardized engineering methods across multiple teams or programs, with strong systems thinking and documentation skills. Experience with FAA certification considerations is essential. Bonus qualifications include NX, Teamcenter, or SAP experience, background in scaling manufacturing standards, or eVTOL/Advanced Air Mobility experience.
