bunch is building the operating infrastructure for private markets, combining AI-powered automation with deep regulatory expertise to replace fragmented processes with an integrated platform for fund lifecycle management. The company has 4x'd ARR in 2025, crossed 150 fund managers and 12,000 LPs, and closed a $35M Series B in May 2026. As Staff Frontend Engineer, you will shape the architecture, quality, and developer experience of product surfaces that customers and internal teams rely on daily. You will work across product teams to make frontend systems scalable, reliable, accessible, and fast while helping engineers ship with clarity and confidence. This role is not only about delivery—your decisions will influence how frontend engineering at bunch evolves: the standards adopted, patterns reused, quality bar held, and collaboration between product, design, and engineering. TOP PRIORITIES: 1. Lead migration from Svelte to React, holding the architectural picture across both stacks, sequencing work against product delivery, and landing it without stalling teams. 2. Maintain and evolve the design system with the frontend guild so product teams ship consistent, accessible UI faster. 3. Support and guide frontend initiatives across teams—application architecture, performance, testing strategy, developer experience, and technical debt reduction—from diagnosis through measurable delivery. 4. Raise the bar for UX and UI quality through design reviews, reusable patterns, mentoring, and thoughtful technical writing. 5. Advance how the company builds with AI—find where agentic tooling genuinely improves engineering practice and shape the codebase so it works well for people and agents alike. FIRST 90 DAYS: - Days 1-30: Map frontend architecture, product domains, design system, team workflows, and main bottlenecks affecting delivery and quality. - Days 30-60: Publish structured problem analysis and proposal for one cross-team frontend initiative with clear trade-offs, stakeholders, and success measures. - Days 60-90: Lead systemic improvement from kickoff to measurable progress across teams while helping Senior Engineers grow through collaboration, reviews, and shared ownership. TECH STACK: TypeScript, React, Svelte (consolidating to React), Node.js, Nest.js, MySQL, Kubernetes on AWS, GitHub, FusionAuth, Okta, Retool, Twilio, SendGrid, Tally. WORKPLACE: Remote with EoR contract. 28 days vacation plus 2 company days and local public holidays. Customizable benefits covering wellbeing, sport, mobility, food. Work with 130+ team members from 40+ countries. REQUIREMENTS: - Track record of operating at Staff scope (with or without title) and shipping systemic frontend or product-engineering improvements across multiple teams. People listen because of what you have delivered, how clearly you think, and how effectively you collaborate. - Deep expertise in modern frontend engineering: strong command of TypeScript, component architecture, state management, design systems, accessibility, performance, testing, and maintainable application architecture. - AI-native practice: daily use of AI coding tools beyond autocomplete into agentic workflows. Considered view on where they genuinely help, where they don't, and what a codebase needs to work well with agents. - Product judgment: care about user experience as much as technical solution. Ability to translate ambiguous workflows and business constraints into pragmatic, elegant product experiences. - Systems thinking: comfortable reasoning across frontend, backend, APIs, infrastructure, observability, security, and compliance when problems require it. - Operating style: think in quarters and years, not only sprints. Drive cross-team change through credibility, clear writing, architectural reasoning, and strong stakeholder alignment—not through authority. - Collaborative leadership: proactive relationship-builder who sets technical direction and influences without formal authority, manages diverse stakeholders, builds alignment on difficult technical decisions, and mentors engineers. - Fluent English, written and spoken. Ability to make complex technical decisions legible to engineers, product partners, design partners, and leadership.
