Shield AI is a venture-backed defense-tech company developing autonomous systems for defense and security applications. The company's Hivemind autonomy software enables intelligent, mission-capable unmanned systems to operate across complex environments with reduced operator burden.
You will serve as a customer-facing technical expert for Hivemind autonomy solutions, based in London and supporting the EURAF region (Europe, United Kingdom, NATO, African defense and security markets, and allied partner nations). This is a high-impact role bridging technical product capabilities with international defense customer needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary technical expert for Hivemind in customer engagements, demonstrations, and technical briefings across the EURAF region
- Support customer discovery, RFIs, RFPs, proposals, white papers, and technical interchange meetings
- Translate customer mission needs, operational concepts, constraints, and integration requirements into credible Hivemind solution concepts
- Partner with Business Development, Capture, Product, and Engineering teams to develop customer-facing technical narratives and sales assets
- Explain autonomy capabilities, limitations, roadmap considerations, and integration requirements to technical, operational, commercial, and leadership audiences
- Develop and maintain technical sales materials including capability briefs, demo scripts, solution templates, FAQs, and white papers
- Represent customer requirements and field feedback to internal product and engineering teams
- Help customers evaluate how autonomy supports operational effectiveness, mission planning, and force modernization
- Maintain product truth by ensuring all customer-facing materials accurately reflect current capabilities and constraints
- Monitor developments in autonomy, AI, unmanned systems, and EURAF regional defense priorities
- Build trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders and internal cross-functional partners
- Operate independently across complex international customer engagements while keeping stakeholders aligned
- Support regional engagement strategies by tailoring technical messaging and demos to EURAF customer missions and partnership models
- Travel internationally for customer engagements, demonstrations, and internal meetings
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in solutions engineering, field applications engineering, systems engineering, technical sales, autonomy, robotics, defense software, aerospace, or related technical customer-facing roles
- Strong technical understanding of autonomy, AI-enabled systems, mission software, unmanned systems, robotics, or complex defense technology systems
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical engagements such as demos, technical briefings, proposal support, integration discussions, or technical interchange meetings
- Experience supporting international defense, security, aerospace, government, or advanced technology customers
- Ability to translate customer mission needs into technically feasible solution concepts, requirements, and product feedback
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Engagement, and Program teams
- Strong judgment in representing product capabilities, limitations, and roadmap dependencies to customers
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with customers and internal stakeholders through technical credibility and clear communication
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for customer engagements and demonstrations
- Ability to work from or regularly support activities in London, United Kingdom
- Professional fluency in English
Preferred qualifications:
- Direct experience supporting defense, security, aerospace, autonomy, or robotics customers in Europe, United Kingdom, NATO, Africa, or allied international markets
- Familiarity with EURAF defense modernization priorities, operational environments, and acquisition processes
- Experience working with ministries of defense, armed forces, government stakeholders, or defense primes across the EURAF region
- Experience with autonomous aircraft, unmanned systems, or AI-enabled mission systems
- Hands-on experience with Python, C++, Linux, APIs, SDKs, autonomy software, or robotics middleware
- Familiarity with autonomy development workflows, mission planning, system integration, or customer demonstration planning
- Experience supporting proposals, RFIs, RFPs, white papers, or complex capture activities
- Prior military, defense, aerospace, robotics, or unmanned systems experience
- Demonstrated ability to create clear, reusable technical content
