CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Cost Accountant to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting activities. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, internal controls, and government contracting requirements. This position is critical to maintaining a strong internal control environment and supporting audit readiness as the company scales within the highly regulated aerospace and defense sector.
The Staff Cost Accountant will partner closely with cross-functional leaders and serve as a trusted accounting advisor to management. The role requires deep expertise in cost accounting, particularly in the context of government contracts and defense industry regulations. Responsibilities include managing the accounting team's day-to-day operations, overseeing financial close processes, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory frameworks, and developing accounting policies and procedures that support the company's growth.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace and defense accounting, strong knowledge of government contracting accounting standards (DCAA), and the ability to work in a dynamic startup environment. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and attention to detail, with the opportunity to build and mentor an accounting function from the ground up.
