Brex is seeking a Staff Brand Designer to lead the evolution of its brand identity system. This is a strategic and hands-on role within a cross-disciplinary design team that includes product designers, brand designers, content strategists, and marketing leaders. You will own and evolve Brex's complete brand identity system—visual language, typography, color, illustration, and brand patterns—ensuring consistency while enabling creative flexibility across teams and channels. Working closely with Marketing leaders, Web, Product teams, and external creative partners, you'll translate company strategy and brand vision into compelling visual direction. Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining brand standards, designing new brand expressions that advance the identity while preserving recognition, leading high-impact brand work beyond the core system (campaigns, sub-brands, product launches), art directing brand campaigns, and providing guidance across the organization to raise execution quality. You'll need 7+ years of brand design or art direction experience with a strong focus on identity systems and brand evolution. A portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, system design, and high-quality execution is essential. Deep expertise in typography, color, composition, and scalable visual systems is required. You must be fluent in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, comfortable prototyping and iterating quickly, and have practical experience using AI tools in creative work. The role is hybrid, based in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York, requiring a minimum of three coordinated days in-office per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), with up to four weeks per year of fully remote work available.
