Salary: USD 65,000 - 84,000 / annual
The Honest Company, a NASDAQ-listed personal care and wellness brand (founded 2012), is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting department in Playa Vista. You will own core accounting operations including month-end close processes, journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement support.
Key responsibilities include: preparing and analyzing journal entries for month-end close; reconciling data from multiple sources to the general ledger; recording accruals, prepaid amortizations, fixed asset transactions, and adjusting entries; preparing deliverables for financial statements and audit support; investigating balance sheet and P&L variances with insightful commentary; conducting technical accounting research; collaborating cross-functionally to validate financial results; compiling analysis for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and tax preparation; and identifying AI/automation opportunities.
You'll need a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience. Required skills: solid US GAAP knowledge, understanding of internal controls and month-end close processes, proficiency in Excel (formulas, VLookups, pivot tables), strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus qualifications include public company experience at a national firm, CPA or active CPA pursuit (strongly preferred), CPG or inventory-based business background, experience with top-tier ERP systems, and SOX/internal controls experience in a public company setting.
Compensation: $65,000–$84,000 annually, based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
