SoundCloud is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance team in New York. The role supports the company's music distribution, premium artist, and advertising business lines, working closely with stakeholders across multiple lines of business and global teams (including offices in Berlin).
Key responsibilities include managing monthly and annual closing and reporting for the distribution line of business; owning revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliation between DSP reporting, royalties systems, and the general ledger; executing monthly reconciliations of all accounts associated with respective business lines; tracking cash and marketing advance payments and recoupments; maintaining general ledger bookkeeping for P&L and balance sheet items; creating and processing outgoing invoices to customers and booking associated cash receipts; processing record label and music publishing invoices and payments; partnering with the FP&A department; and collaborating with other teams on accounting matters and projects as a proactive business partner.
Required experience includes 1+ years in accounting or auditing (preferably in the music industry); strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus); knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS; and comfort with cross-functional collaboration.
