Semperis, a recognized fast-growing cybersecurity company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support its accounting team in Dallas. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the company's financial operations.
Key responsibilities include supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. You'll manage balance sheet reconciliations for bank accounts and assigned general ledger accounts, maintain prepaid expense schedules and amortization entries, and support fixed asset accounting including asset records, additions/disposals, and depreciation entries.
Additional duties encompass assisting with accounts receivable activities such as cash application and collections follow-up, supporting audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation, processing accounts payable including invoice coding and payment support, and reviewing employee expense reports for compliance. You'll also support ad hoc accounting projects, process improvements, and cross-functional research to resolve accounting questions while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including hands-on exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, AP, AR, or general ledger accounting. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite), AP platforms (Coupa), and expense management tools (Expensify) is a plus. CPA eligibility or pursuit of CPA certification is preferred. Public accounting, audit, Big 4, or corporate accounting experience is valued, as is exposure to multi-entity or global organizations.
