The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations with primary responsibility for accounts payable, payroll administration, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment requiring strong analytical skills and solid understanding of GAAP principles. Key responsibilities include executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities; preparing and recording journal entries with supporting documentation; reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly (cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets); identifying and resolving accounting variances; assisting in preparing financial statements and management reports; reviewing and processing vendor invoices with 3-way matching; managing weekly payment runs; researching invoice discrepancies; maintaining vendor files and 1099 reporting; processing accurate biweekly payroll using ADP; validating timesheets and payroll inputs; processing payroll changes for new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments; ensuring accurate payroll tax processing; and partnering with People Operations on employee data accuracy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working across multiple accounting processes. You'll partner closely with Finance, People, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial and payroll processing. Required: 2+ years of accounting experience including hands-on accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and month-end close. Payroll experience strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, large datasets). Experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) and ADP Workforce Now highly preferred. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, problem-solving and reconciliation skills, discretion with confidential information, clear communication, and ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
