Shield AI is seeking a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join its engineering organization. This is a Staff-level individual contributor role focused on building and maintaining the infrastructure, systems, and operational practices that support Shield AI's autonomous systems and defense technology products.
In this role, you will work on company-wide reliability challenges, mentor and guide engineering teams on SRE best practices, and drive architectural improvements across Shield AI's infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing scalable systems, improving deployment pipelines, reducing operational toil, and ensuring high availability of critical systems that support defense operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing infrastructure solutions that support autonomous systems and real-time operations
- Establishing SRE practices, monitoring, observability, and incident response frameworks
- Mentoring engineers across teams on reliability principles and operational excellence
- Collaborating with product and platform teams to identify and resolve systemic reliability issues
- Contributing to architectural decisions that impact company-wide infrastructure
- Driving automation and tooling initiatives to reduce manual operational work
