Echodyne is seeking a Senior RF Test and Debug Engineer to join the team developing high-performance commercial radar solutions. The company specializes in compact solid-state beam-steering radar for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft, drones, and critical infrastructure security, combining patented metamaterial technology with software to deliver unprecedented performance at commercial price points. In this role, you will play a key part in the development and production of Echodyne radars, contributing to challenging problem-solving and root-cause investigations related to system-level and board-level failures. You will apply deep knowledge of RF circuits and test methods to debug cutting-edge radar circuits while maintaining engineering rigor and meeting aggressive development timelines. Key responsibilities include planning and performing measurements and extended tests on radar RF subsystems and components; compiling and analyzing data to distill key performance metrics and identify root causes; troubleshooting complex RF failure modes; designing, maintaining, and improving RF test capabilities, methods, fixtures, and equipment; collaborating with electrical engineering, systems, and manufacturing teams to identify measurement requirements and develop procedures; and training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians. Required experience includes hands-on work with microelectronics printed circuit assemblies in lab environments, familiarity with ESD procedures, proficiency with RF test equipment at microwave frequencies (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers), knowledge of standard RF metrics (return-loss, gain, noise-figure, compression point, bandwidth), and experience with digital and analog test equipment. You must have strong analytical skills in root-cause analysis and excellent interpersonal abilities. Desired skills include Python or MATLAB experience interfacing with test equipment via COM, PHY, or GPIB protocols, and experience designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits. A BS or MS in Engineering or Physics with 5+ years of hands-on RF measurement experience is required. U.S. citizenship, green card status, or asylum/refugee status is required due to export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
