Trunk Tools is an AI-driven construction technology company that has raised $70M in funding (including a recent $40M Series B led by Insight Partners) to revolutionize the construction industry through intelligent automation. The company has grown to 100+ employees (50+ engineers) and serves over 140,000 field professionals, impacting millions of users and contributing to $10B+ in built projects.
You will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for Trunk Tools' go-to-market and operations teams, owning hiring across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and People functions. This is a hands-on, build-it role with real ownership and direct partnership with the founder and leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own end-to-end recruiting for go-to-market, operations, and G&A roles from intake through offer and close
- Manage external recruiting partnerships: source, negotiate, and oversee agencies and embedded recruiters; determine when to run searches in-house versus externally
- Set recruiting standards by coaching hiring managers on best practices, building job descriptions, scorecards, and interview frameworks
- Build and maintain high-quality candidate pipelines through sourcing, referrals, outbound outreach, networking, and creative tactics
- Run fast, organized processes: coordinate interviews, maintain candidate experience, and protect process quality
- Own the ATS (Ashby): maintain data integrity, build reporting on pipeline health and funnel metrics, identify and fix bottlenecks
- Partner with Finance, People, and Leadership on headcount planning and hiring prioritization
- Run the internal referrals program and represent Trunk Tools externally at events and in candidate outreach
- Build fair, consistent, and inclusive recruiting practices
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations
- Contribute to broader People and Operations initiatives as the company scales
The role requires comfort with ambiguity, speed, and wearing multiple hats in a high-growth startup environment. You'll be expected to use automation and AI tools to source smarter, speed up outreach and screening, and reduce manual work.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 to 6 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally at a high-growth startup
- Proven track record hiring across go-to-market and business teams while managing multiple concurrent searches
- Experience managing external recruiters or agencies, with sound judgment on when to use them
- Fluency with an ATS (Ashby preferred); HRIS exposure a plus
- Data-driven approach to funnel metrics, reporting, and decision-making
- Strong judgment on talent and team dynamics
- Clear communication skills and solid process instincts
- Comfortable in a hybrid, NYC-based startup environment that values in-person collaboration
- Fluency with automation and AI tools for sourcing, outreach, and screening
