Salary: USD 127,000 - 160,000 / annual

As Senior HR Business Partner, you will be a strategic people partner supporting multiple client groups—including Engineering and Retail Go-To-Market teams—while driving strong employee experiences and business outcomes. You'll work hands-on with people managers at the team and manager level, contributing to broader People & Workplace initiatives as Upside scales.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with people managers across multiple functions to support day-to-day HR needs and deliver consistent, high-quality support
- Coach and guide managers on performance management, employee development, engagement, and team efficiency
- Support and implement people programs including performance reviews, talent discussions, and development initiatives
- Analyze people data and trends to identify opportunities and recommend actionable solutions
- Serve as trusted point of contact for employees, reinforcing culture and core values
- Manage employee relations matters with fairness, discretion, and collaboration with senior HR leaders
- Support organizational change initiatives in a scaling company
- Partner cross-functionally within People & Workplace to deploy programs, policies, and tools
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters involving senior leaders to the Sr. Principal HRBP
- Contribute to building a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment
This is a hybrid role based in the NYC Flatiron District office with required in-office attendance Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Occasional travel may be required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience supporting Engineering and/or Sales teams as an HRBP
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience supporting people managers and employees across multiple functions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting to evolving business needs
- Ability to balance empathy with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels
- Hands-on mentality with bias for action and continuous improvement
- Willingness to travel occasionally
