AEVEX, a defense and aerospace company headquartered in Solana Beach, California, is seeking a Senior Program Finance Analyst to support tactical systems programs. This role provides advanced financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting to ensure effective cost management and compliance with contractual and corporate requirements.
You will partner closely with program management, contracts, and operations teams to monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and support strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining program financial baselines (budgets, forecasts, cost estimates, and Estimates-At-Completion); monitoring and analyzing program costs, revenue, and profitability against established targets; preparing regular financial reports for internal management and external customers with variance analysis; tracking and forecasting labor, material, and overhead costs; assisting in proposal preparation and pricing; ensuring compliance with internal controls and government accounting standards; and coordinating with accounting, contracts, and operations on billing and revenue recognition.
You will also provide mentorship to junior team members and identify process improvements in financial reporting and program controls. The role requires strong analytical skills, high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and a deep understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting principles. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and earned value management (EVM) is a plus.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; 4-6+ years of experience in financial analysis, program control, or project accounting; experience in government contracting or manufacturing preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
