Hinge Health is building a world-class R&D organization and seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead R&D Enablement initiatives. You will treat internal developer experience as a product, driving strategy to achieve industry-leading benchmarks in velocity, throughput, and satisfaction across the entire development lifecycle.
You will oversee the product roadmap for Service Enablement, Mobile App Enablement, Platform Quality, and SRE pods. Your mandate is to eliminate friction from concept through deployment and observability, empowering Engineering, Product, and Design teams to deliver value faster and more reliably.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define the R&D Enablement Strategy: Evolve from "Engineering Enablement" to broad "R&D Enablement" supporting engineers, product managers, and designers with AI-powered tools and streamlined workflows.
- Drive the "5 Pillars" of R&D Excellence: AI Adoption (integrate coding assistants, observability, knowledge management to save 5+ hours/week per person); Velocity & Local Iteration (champion ephemeral environments and CI/CD optimization); Quality Engineering (reduce flaky tests and production incidents); Instrumentation & Observability (structured logging, unified dashboards via DataDog); Knowledge Management (treat documentation as a product).
- Manage the Platform Roadmap: Partner with Engineering Managers to prioritize technical investments, managing backlogs for Service Enablement, App Enablement, and SRE teams.
- Measure What Matters: Track DXI (Developer Experience Index), PR Throughput, DORA metrics, and Mean Time-to-Recovery (MTTR).
- Voice of the Customer: Conduct quarterly DX surveys and listening tours to identify friction points and translate feedback into actionable requirements.
- Translate strategy into concrete quarterly roadmaps and lead rollout of a unified Developer Experience Platform (DXP).
- Collaborate with App Enablement teams to optimize mobile/frontend developer experience for Phoenix application stack and release processes.
- Drive cultural change by incentivizing documentation, deep work, and "paved road" adoption.
- Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to balance speed with compliance and reliability.
REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with strong preference for candidates who have worked on Internal Developer Platforms (IDP), DevOps tools, or B2B technical products
- Technical Fluency: ability to have deep technical conversations with engineers about CI/CD pipelines, microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and mobile release cycles
- Data-Driven: experience using metrics like DORA, SPACE, or DevEx to guide decision-making
- Program Management: strong technical program management skills to orchestrate complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Change Management: proven ability to drive adoption of new tools and processes across large, distributed engineering organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, TypeScript, React Native, Kafka, and DataDog
- Familiarity with Backstage (Mission Control) or similar internal developer portals
- Experience implementing GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Glean) in enterprise environments
- Background in SRE or Platform Engineering principles
