Clair is an embedded fintech company on a mission to give America's workers financial freedom through a digital banking platform that enables on-demand pay. Rather than operating as a standalone app, Clair embeds its products within the scheduling, workforce management, and payroll systems that workers already use daily. You'll join as a Product Manager for one of Clair's next products—a product currently in successful private beta that is actively being expanded. This is an early-stage product opportunity where you'll help shape the journey from concept through real-world launch and iteration. You won't inherit a perfectly defined roadmap; instead, you'll help turn ambiguity into action and work alongside a small, highly collaborative team to build, test, learn, and iterate quickly. The role requires balancing competing priorities unique to embedded fintech: user needs, partner priorities, business demands, and regulatory constraints. You'll work closely with engineering, design, data, finance, regulatory, operations, go-to-market, and partner teams. Key responsibilities include: - Identify and evaluate opportunities for new products and experiences, often before the problem or solution is fully understood - Define and execute product strategy and roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-moving environments - Partner closely with engineering and design to move from concept to experiment to product - Build, test, learn, and iterate quickly—knowing when to invest further and when to fail fast - Balance user experience with partner priorities, business requirements, and regulatory realities - Spend time with partner management and go-to-market teams to identify opportunities and uncover unmet needs - Develop deep understanding of Clair users through feedback, behavioral data, research, and direct conversations - Work with data and analytics teams to develop hypotheses and make informed decisions - Collaborate with design and support teams to create intuitive financial product experiences - Partner with regulatory, finance, and operations teams to navigate complex requirements - Bring the voice of the customer into strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day decisions - Analyze market trends and the fintech landscape to identify innovation opportunities - Advocate for your product and point of view with senior leadership while remaining open to feedback - Take ownership from problem identification through launch and iteration Requirements: - 3+ years of product management experience, ideally building new products or features from the ground up - Experience in consumer fintech, neobanking, financial services, or another complex regulated industry preferred - Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity without needing every decision or process pre-defined - Strong product instincts paired with willingness to test quickly and learn from failures - Experience balancing multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining a clear user-centric point of view - Deep empathy for how Americans use financial products and interest in financial wellbeing impact - Experience partnering closely with design teams and articulating product preferences and tradeoffs - Comfort working with engineers, data teams, and technical systems - Understanding of or curiosity about lending systems, underwriting, payments, risk management, or financial infrastructure (highly preferred) - Strong data fluency and experience using quantitative and qualitative insights - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Comfort advocating for product strategy upward with senior leadership - Strong sense of ownership and accountability - Startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, practical, energized by building something new Location: Hybrid in New York City; expected to come into office at least three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) with additional days for client meetings.
