Salary: USD 108,480 - 135,600 / annual
Archer Technologies is an aerospace company based in San Jose building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for sustainable air mobility. The Senior Payroll Analyst will manage complex payroll operations for 1,000+ employees across 38+ US states and globally, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities include: full-cycle semi-monthly payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees using ADP WorkforceNow; month-end, fiscal year-end, and calendar year-end reconciliations for 401(k), benefits, and equity awards; preparing journal entries for payroll-related items; managing multi-state tax withholding, garnishments, and compliance audits; researching and advising on complex payroll transactions; identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls; providing standard and ad-hoc reports to Finance, Accounting, Legal, Equity, and People Operations; reconciling 401(k)/Roth contributions; maintaining payroll records and documentation; assisting with SOPs; and supporting the Payroll Manager on special projects.
Required qualifications: BS/BA degree (preferably Accounting or Finance); 5+ years payroll experience in fast-paced environments; 5+ years using ADP WorkforceNow; experience with multi-state payrolls of 1,000+ employees; detailed knowledge of payroll compliance and state/federal employment laws; proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Word, and Google Docs; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; discretion and confidentiality; and demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
