As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you will develop containerized microservices and associated components for a distributed multi-tenant system processing real-time data, events, and telemetry from multiple public clouds. You'll mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns, helping them grow as engineers and become productive team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing backend services primarily in Java (Spring Boot) and working with data pipelines using Kafka and SQL
- Owning critical features and subsystems across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements clarification through deployment and customer usage
- Owning operational aspects of the system, ensuring usable and supportable software that delivers a delightful customer experience
- Ensuring quality across all development processes through early testing, functional/integration testing, and performance testing
- Partnering with Product Management to refine requirements that exceed customer expectations
- Developing deep understanding of customer problems through stakeholder and peer interaction
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years building distributed and scalable software systems
- Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP at the API/programming level
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot or Golang
- REST API client experience
- General TCP/IP networking knowledge
- Unix/Linux programming environment experience
- Kubernetes containerized service delivery experience
Desired qualifications include networking and security controls experience, CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible expertise. The role involves access to export-controlled technology and requires compliance with U.S. export controls.
