Taskrabbit is seeking a Senior Marketplace Growth Strategist to unlock scalable growth in suburban markets where the company already operates but sees significant untapped potential. This role focuses on solving a core business puzzle: how to drive high-margin growth in suburban areas with favorable client profiles.
You will define Taskrabbit's suburban growth playbook by combining data analysis, local market insights, and experimentation to build localized, scalable strategies. The position blends research, channel testing, and go-to-market initiatives to address supply-demand imbalances in suburban markets, with the goal of scaling successful tactics nationally.
Key responsibilities include identifying high-potential suburban pockets within major metros, developing suburb-specific go-to-market strategies that account for unique behaviors and needs, conducting user and market research to understand barriers, and piloting grassroots awareness channels (Facebook groups, local PR, neighborhood communities). You'll collaborate with Marketing to merchandise appropriate service categories and optimize SEM spend, and work with analytical and operational teams to close fulfillment gaps between suburban and urban areas.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years in growth, strategy, or operations roles at consumer platforms or marketplaces. You should demonstrate strong cross-functional partnership skills, deep curiosity about business drivers, and proven ability to diagnose and solve underperformance in existing markets. Experience with supply-demand dynamics, local market nuance, and the ability to balance analytical rigor with scrappy execution are essential. Familiarity with BI tools (Sigma, Looker) and AI tools (Claude) is required; SQL experience and understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics are ideal.
This hybrid role reports to the US Commercial Director and requires two days per week in-office collaboration. The position can be based in either San Francisco or New York City.
