Gong is seeking a visionary Senior Manager of Cyber Defense & Engineering to architect and scale corporate security foundations protecting employees across devices, identity, AI, SaaS, email, collaboration, and access. You will lead a high-performing Corporate Security Engineering team within Gong's Cyber Defense group, building the operating model and technical strategy that enables a global, distributed, AI-native workforce to move quickly and securely.
Key responsibilities include:
• Strategy and execution of Corporate Security Engineering, including team building and organizational scaling with strong technical depth and execution rigor
• Endpoint security across macOS, Windows, and Linux fleets, including EDR coverage, policy, hardening baselines, and IT/MDM partnerships
• Identity and access security: SSO, phishing-resistant MFA, passwordless adoption, conditional access, device trust, PAM, and joiner-mover-leaver controls
• Email and collaboration security: anti-phishing, BEC controls, DMARC/SPF/DKIM enforcement, malicious-content protection, and phishing automation
• SaaS security posture management, including OAuth governance, shadow IT discovery, and security review partnerships with GRC and Procurement
• Zero trust and corporate network security for distributed workforce: ZTNA, office security, segmentation, certificate trust, and Wi-Fi security
• Data protection and insider-risk tooling across endpoint, email, browser, and SaaS channels, focusing on crown-jewel data paths
• Corporate vulnerability and baseline management, including patch policy, SLAs, hardening standards, and operational accountability
• Security guardrails for employee AI tool use with an enablement-first mindset
• Metrics and operating discipline across coverage, health, adoption, SLA performance, and remediation speed
You will solve critical challenges: building preventive controls without friction, designing scalable defense for global distributed workforce, governing risky OAuth and shadow IT safely, protecting customer conversation data and revenue data, building durable partnerships across IT/DRE/Legal/People/GRC/Procurement/NetEng, and creating scalable team structures that maintain high reliability standards.
