Salary: USD 150,000 - 180,000 / annual

Material Security is seeking a Senior Manager of Content Marketing to own the editorial engine that shapes how the cybersecurity market thinks about email and workspace security. You will lead the content strategy and editorial calendar across the blog, resource center, research reports, and executive thought leadership. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on content creation and publication. Key responsibilities include: - Develop and execute content strategy across blog, resource center, research reports, and thought leadership platforms - Lead the original research program, including the State of Workspace Security report franchise, partnering with threat research teams - Write and edit across multiple formats: research reports, technical blog posts, category positioning pieces, web copy, video scripts, and campaign content - Own the website's content layer and answer-engine optimization (AEO), structuring content so AI search engines cite Material Security and tracking share of model against competitors - Drive category narrative in partnership with product marketing, translating positioning into published arguments the market repeats - Build content-led campaigns with demand generation teams, delivering assets designed to convert with clear SLAs - Partner with founders, engineers, and security researchers to source insights and maintain technical credibility with practitioner audiences - Measure impact through pipeline influence, citation share, and engagement data; discontinue underperforming initiatives This is a hands-on role where you will produce the work, not just the plan. You'll be responsible for the full editorial function from strategy through measurement. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years in content marketing, editorial, tech journalism, or security research writing, with meaningful experience in B2B, security, or infrastructure - Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio spanning long-form research/reporting, technical explainers, and sharp short-form content - Demonstrated track record of turning datasets, telemetry, or survey research into published work that earned coverage and citations - Security fluency sufficient to interview detection engineers credibly and write content that resonates with CISO audiences; no need to write detection rules, but must avoid fluff - Working knowledge of SEO and hands-on conviction about answer-engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) - Experience running a content function end-to-end: strategy, calendar, production, review, publication, distribution, and measurement - Strong point of view on what makes security content worth reading, backed by demonstrated results
