Town is an applied AI company building a persistent AI assistant that learns your voice, judgment, relationships, and priorities to do real work on your behalf across email, calendar, docs, Slack, CRM, and other tools. The company recently raised $55M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with founders previously leading applied AI product at Google and EPD at Plaid.
You will own Town's community function end-to-end, building the strategy, events calendar, and peer-learning engine that turns individual user innovations into widely-adopted features. Your core responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute community strategy: identify target audiences, design programs with clear success metrics, and authentically embed Town in communities where users already gather (not as a booth, but as a genuine participant).
- Build the peer-learning engine: identify power users doing interesting work, package their routines and skills into reusable forms, and distribute them across the user base.
- Grow the online community: set tone, seed discussions, ensure quality answers, and create a space where users return because their peers are there.
- Create and execute the events calendar: in-office show-and-tells, builder nights, workshops, dinners, and strategic presence at key AI industry events.
- Convert community output into GTM fuel: package user-built routines, workflows, and stories for Marketing, Sales, and Support to use with prospects and customers.
- Close feedback loops with Product and Support: you'll be first to hear what's breaking and what users need, and you'll ensure that feedback reaches the teams who can act on it.
- Define and instrument success: track touchpoints, activation, retention, and adoption metrics for community members versus the broader user base; own the numbers, not just anecdotes.
- Partner with Content Marketing and PMM on product launches: community plays a role before, during, and after every ship.
You'll work in the San Francisco office five days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in community, customer marketing, or event marketing, with hands-on program execution (not just managing others who executed).
- Track record of building something from nothing—a program, community, or conference track—with measurable impact.
- AI power user: you've built real workflows with agents or automation tools and can help users optimize their setups in real time.
- Strong writing skills with a voice people want to read.
- Event execution experience: venue selection, catering, run-of-show, day-of logistics.
- Comfort thinking in metrics and owning a number.
- Based in SF and committed to five-day-per-week in-office presence.
- Self-directed: you find work and close loops without being chased.
