Crux is a capital platform modernizing how clean energy and critical infrastructure projects raise and deploy capital. The company has raised $77M from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Lowercarbon Capital, operates a $500M warehouse facility with Nuveen, and has closed 180+ transactions facilitating billions in capital deployment over the past two years. You will lead marketing strategy for Crux's capital-seeker audience—clean energy developers and sponsors navigating complex project financing. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy, this is a hands-on, senior role at the intersection of marketing, commercial strategy, and product. You'll own positioning, go-to-market execution, and commercial enablement while working closely with product, commercial, and sales leadership. Key responsibilities include: developing and executing go-to-market strategies for products and services targeting developers and sponsors; creating differentiated positioning and value propositions that connect Crux's capabilities to customer financing needs; serving as the voice of the developer/sponsor audience, applying deep knowledge of project development and capital markets to strategy; synthesizing customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends into actionable recommendations; equipping customer-facing teams with messaging, training, and sales tools; and driving cross-functional alignment across product, commercial, and marketing teams. You'll develop high-impact enablement materials including training programs, competitive battlecards, and sales plays, and measure their effectiveness. You'll also collaborate closely with your counterpart focused on capital providers to ensure strategies connect across both market sides. The company operates remote-first with optional offices in DC, NYC, Denver, and SF. Culture emphasizes high ownership, rapid execution, customer focus, and bringing together financial services and technology expertise. Team offsites occur twice yearly. REQUIREMENTS: - Direct experience with clean energy developers or sponsors, with strong understanding of project development, financing needs, and capital formation decisions - 5+ years in B2B marketing, product marketing, commercial strategy, or related strategic function, including startup or high-growth environment experience - Demonstrated ownership of strategic initiatives from opportunity identification through execution and measurement - Experience developing positioning and go-to-market strategies for complex products/services, ideally across multiple customer segments or buyer personas - Proven ability to translate technical and financial complexity into clear, differentiated messaging that resonates with customers - Experience developing commercial enablement programs and materials that improve customer-facing effectiveness and drive business outcomes - Strong cross-functional influence and relationship-building skills; ability to earn trust, challenge assumptions, and align senior stakeholders without direct authority - Structured, analytical thinking and sound commercial judgment; ability to synthesize ambiguous information into clear recommendations and action
