Salary: USD 125,000 - 160,000 / annual
Formlabs is a 3D printing hardware company whose technology powers innovation at over 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. The company is seeking a Senior Public Relations Manager to own earned media strategy and execution across press, analysts, and the maker community.
In this role, you will lead PR efforts for product launches end-to-end, including messaging development, press materials, embargoes, briefings, and launch-day coverage coordination. You'll build and execute a proactive, always-on PR strategy aligned with company goals, growing relationships with business, technology, design, manufacturing, and trade press, as well as key industry analysts. You'll collaborate on the product reviews program, managing reviewer access to hardware and tracking resulting coverage.
Additional responsibilities include raising executive visibility through interviews, bylines, podcasts, and speaking opportunities; writing and editing press releases, briefing documents, FAQs, and Q&A prep; owning issues and crisis communications; and reporting on share of voice, coverage quality, message pull-through, and impact on traffic and pipeline.
You'll work closely with product marketing, brand, social, and leadership teams to ensure cohesive external communications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years in PR or communications, with at least 3 years leading programs at a tech, hardware, or consumer electronics company or agency
- Track record of securing top-tier coverage in national business, technology, and trade media
- Strong existing relationships with tech and business journalists
- Experience running major product launches with embargoes, review units, and global timing coordination
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a sharp sense of storytelling
- Ability to explain technical products in plain language; curiosity about 3D printing and manufacturing is required; prior experience is a plus
- Ability to measure PR results and tie them to business goals
BONUS SKILLS:
- Experience running influencer and creator programs, especially with YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram creators in maker, design, engineering, or tech spaces
- Relationships with creators and understanding of sponsored content, gifting, and ambassador partnerships
- Familiarity with media monitoring and influencer tools
