Salary: USD 160,000 - 175,000 / annual
Carlsmed is a medical device company focused on improving outcomes and reducing costs for spine surgery through its aprevo® personalized surgery platform. As Senior Finance Manager, you will lead finance and accounting functions for the company's supply chain and production operations in a rapidly growing MedTech business.
You will own the full-cycle cost accounting function, including developing and maintaining standard costing systems for purchased and manufactured components. You'll co-lead the NetSuite inventory ERP module and cost accounting implementation, managing system upgrades and ensuring data integrity across the organization.
Key responsibilities include developing and delivering timely operational KPIs and reports to support business performance analytics and actionable recommendations. You will identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and operational efficiency while supporting annual operating plans, forecasts, and strategic planning activities related to manufacturing operations and cost of goods sold.
You'll establish and manage inventory quantity and location tracking across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. You'll monitor variances for manufacturing performance, including capacity utilization, labor efficiency, and scrap trends. As the primary liaison between Operations and Accounting, you'll ensure accurate financial statement reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
You'll co-lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold, supporting financial statement audits and internal control requirements. The role requires 10+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, operational finance, or plant controllership roles, preferably in medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments. Strong hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, QAD) is essential. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
