Salesforce is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Cloud Success Data Intelligence team within the Customer Success Group. This role is central to building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers business intelligence and customer success operations.
You will develop, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines that efficiently move and process data from multiple sources into a BI schema. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, stakeholders, and visualization specialists, you'll translate business requirements into end-to-end data solutions—from raw data acquisition through processing, analysis, and presentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Python, Airflow, and databases (Oracle, Snowflake)
- Writing complex SQL queries to support business intelligence and reporting needs
- Establishing and enforcing data governance best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborating with stakeholders to construct, preprocess, and clean datasets for Tableau dashboards and business reviews
- Monitoring daily data processes and resolving data quality issues
- Mentoring junior data engineers and providing technical leadership
- Staying current with industry trends and emerging data engineering technologies
- Building APIs to extract data from sources like Salesforce Org (advantageous)
- Leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and automate routine tasks
You'll serve as a subject matter expert on underlying data for the customer success and support functions, enabling leaders to drive process improvements and enhance customer experience.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; 6-8 years of data engineering experience in a BI environment; proficiency in Python, Airflow, and relational databases; strong SQL skills; excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
