The Data Engineering team builds and governs the data foundation powering the business. As a Data Engineer III, you'll work within a modern stack: Python ingestion pipelines, Airflow orchestration, and Snowflake/Databricks data warehousing. You'll move data reliably and securely from source systems to decision-ready outputs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Implement new data ingestion sources end-to-end following senior engineer designs—connector code, DAGs, schema design, monitoring, and catalog registration. Extend the team's framework when novel patterns are needed.
• Investigate pipeline failures independently, recognize known issue classes, and ship documented fixes without escalation.
• Identify downstream data consumers before shipping pipelines; flag risks where late or incorrect data could break downstream systems during spec review.
• Write clear handovers when escalating genuinely novel issues—document what you tried, what you ruled out, and where investigation stalled so seniors can pick up efficiently.
• Review peer pipeline PRs and catch non-obvious issues (missing idempotency, race conditions, data correctness risks).
• Turn ambiguous data quality questions into structured investigations; trace lineage from source to warehouse and communicate findings clearly.
You'll implement features and fixes against given designs, handle known problem classes independently, and contribute meaningfully to code review—catching real bugs, not just style issues. This is a mid-to-senior individual contributor role with clear scope and technical depth.
