Stream is a Series B developer platform powering real-time Chat, Video, Activity Feeds, and AI Moderation for billions of end-users across thousands of apps including Strava, Bumble, eBay, and Patreon. The company processes billions of API requests monthly and supports applications with millions of concurrent users.
In this role, you'll own the data platform that powers Stream's go-to-market and product decisions. You'll build and evolve the ingestion platform using Python/dltHub pipelines loading into BigQuery, integrating Salesforce, Stripe, Postgres, PostHog, cloud billing, and other GTM systems. You'll design incremental loading, write dispositions, and scheduling to make onboarding new sources predictable and low-risk.
You'll build the transformation layer using SQLMesh models across a layered architecture, creating clean and well-tested dimensional models with clear conventions for grain, naming, and audit. Core responsibilities include maintaining accurate business models for revenue waterfall, GTM funnel, marketing attribution, and product usage.
Reliability and observability are critical: you'll expand data quality checks, build freshness and reconciliation tests, execution monitoring, and take point when data is stale, wrong, or late. You'll own platform infrastructure including BigQuery, GCP, Terraform, IAM, service accounts, scheduled jobs, and deployment workflows tuned for security, reliability, and cost.
You'll enable the business by delivering trusted datasets to Looker Studio, Google Sheets, and internal CRM systems, and run reverse ETL back into operational systems like Salesforce. You'll also help raise the technical bar by shaping engineering standards, reviewing pipeline and model changes, and sharing context with analysts and engineers contributing to the platform.
The team is small and fast-paced. You'll influence through architecture, code review, and clear conventions rather than titles. The company is mid-migration to GCP, so there's real architecture to shape. This is a 3-day hybrid role based in Boulder.
