Moody's is seeking a Senior Corporate Accounting Manager to lead global Record-to-Report accounting activities from the Gurugram office. This role oversees accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting with strong governance and people leadership.
Key responsibilities include providing strategic oversight of complex accounting activities such as journal entries, allocations, eliminations, and consolidations across multi-entity environments. You will govern enterprise period-end close processes, ensuring high-quality financial results through oversight of accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments. The role involves leading severance, restructuring, and consolidated variance analysis in partnership with FP&A, supporting forecasting and escalation of material risks.
You will oversee payroll, debt, and derivatives accounting, approving key judgments and resolving complex accounting issues. Ensuring the integrity of consolidated results through senior-level review of eliminations, group adjustments, and management reporting is critical. You'll review and approve recurring and lower-risk accounting memoranda, maintaining a strong internal control and documentation framework to support audit readiness.
Leadership is a core component: you will lead and develop accounting managers and teams, driving standardization, systems optimization, and continuous improvement across the Record-to-Report function.
Required qualifications include senior-level expertise in Record-to-Report accounting, deep technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS with strong accounting judgment, and proven experience leading and developing accounting teams. You must demonstrate strong analytical and variance analysis skills, with the ability to identify risks and provide insights to senior stakeholders. High proficiency with SAP, BlackLine, and consolidation platforms is essential, along with hands-on experience using AI tools to improve efficiency and awareness of AI risk management.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred; Master's degree a plus. The role partners closely with Finance, FP&A, Tax, and Audit teams within a shared services and global delivery model.
