Rula, a Series C mental health and addiction treatment platform, is seeking an experienced Senior Billing Specialist to join its Revenue Cycle Management team. This is a remote-first, individual contributor role focused on managing pre-bill functions and driving operational excellence across the claims lifecycle.
You will investigate claim rejections, navigate complex payer requirements, and ensure accurate resolution of intricate billing challenges. Key responsibilities include monitoring automated workflows for efficiency, providing technical guidance to offshore teams, and partnering with cross-functional teams to analyze operational trends and identify optimization opportunities.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of medical billing experience with a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end claims lifecycle, front-end revenue integrity, claim edits, rejection codes, and payer-specific requirements. You should demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, the ability to evaluate complex cases, and proficiency with billing tools such as Salesforce, AMD, payer portals (Availity), and Microsoft Office/Google Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred qualifications include mental health or behavioral health billing experience, intermediate Excel skills (data formatting, pivot tables, charts), proficiency with EHR systems like AdvancedMD, and 1+ years of experience leading or partnering with offshore teams. You must be comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, managing high-volume work queues, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
