Twelve is transforming industrial manufacturing through electrochemistry, converting CO₂ into fuels, chemicals, and materials that traditionally rely on fossil fuels. The company operates the AirPlant One facility in Moses Lake, WA, and is expanding to AirPlant 2.
As Senior Automation Controls Specialist, you will be a hands-on technical leader within the Operations and Maintenance team, responsible for the design, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of the facility's Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS). You will work with Rockwell PlantPAx and FactoryTalk PLC/HMI systems, managing both day-to-day operational support and strategic system evolution.
Key responsibilities include: leading all automation and control activities with hands-on configuration and documentation; developing deep understanding of safety-critical ICSS concepts and serving as system owner; partnering with Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Finance, and Legal on capital projects; serving as the operational technology (OT) interface to IT teams, translating plant control requirements into secure network practices (industrial Ethernet, VLANs, firewalls, network segmentation, IDMZ, role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, secure remote access, patch management, incident response); interfacing with Rockwell and the main automation contractor; and participating in learnings from AirPlant One to inform AirPlant 2 design.
You will troubleshoot control applications, align expected vs. actual system responses, and provide corrective configuration support. You will develop relationships with control system suppliers and evaluate technology fit for Moses Lake operations. The role requires participation in cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Finance, and HSE teams.
This is a full-time permanent position (or direct contract option) requiring local presence in Moses Lake or willingness to relocate, with after-hours support on an as-needed basis.
