Salary: USD 83,000 - 91,000 / annual

Cowboy Space Corp. is building orbital infrastructure to power and connect the space economy. Founded in 2024 by Baiju Bhatt (Robinhood co-founder) and backed by leading investors, the company operates satellites in Low Earth Orbit to collect sunlight, enable on-orbit compute, transmit energy via infrared lasers, and deliver secure optical data. The team comes from top aerospace and defense organizations and is moving quickly to solve complex technical challenges. The Senior Accounting Specialist will build and scale financial operations supporting engineering and supply chain teams. This role manages high-volume accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance. Key responsibilities include: processing high volumes of vendor invoices with accuracy; performing two-way and three-way matching of invoices, POs, and receiving documents; reviewing invoices for proper coding, approvals, and documentation; investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, and unmatched transactions; coordinating with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues; monitoring AP aging and ensuring timely payments; processing employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions; maintaining vendor master records; preparing weekly payment runs (ACH, wire transfers, checks); supporting month-end and year-end closing activities; assisting with 1099 reporting and tax compliance; maintaining organized AP records for audit support; responding to vendor inquiries; and recommending process improvements. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 5+ years of accounting experience in high-volume environments with significant AP exposure; experience with Ramp for AP, invoice processing, expense management, and corporate card administration; experience with POs, procure-to-pay workflows, and three-way matching; ability to process hundreds of invoices monthly with high accuracy; inventory accounting and high-volume purchasing experience; advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, Vlookup/Xlookup, data analysis); ERP system experience (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar); exceptional attention to detail; and excellent cross-functional communication skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in manufacturing, aerospace, hardware, or inventory-intensive industries; supporting engineering or production organizations; knowledge of inventory costing and manufacturing operations; ERP implementation or finance systems optimization experience; SOX controls and audit support familiarity; and experience building scalable AP processes in high-growth startups.
