NovoEd is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in a hands-on individual-contributor role. This position offers meaningful impact in a high-growth environment and reports to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own monthly and quarterly close processes, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, fixed assets, prepaids, cash management, bank reconciliations, accruals, and journal entry processing
- Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll, maintain employee records in payroll systems, and reconcile payroll GL accounts
- Create and send customer invoices, collect payments, and discuss past-due accounts with management
- Support tax and compliance filings (sales tax, 1099 reporting, benefits compliance) and provide audit support
- Document, implement, and maintain accounting policies, processes, and internal controls
- Identify and implement process improvements to scale and automate manual procedures; support finance systems implementations and automation efforts
- Prepare monthly reporting packages and variance analysis for management
- Review customer contracts for revenue recognition treatment (ASC 606)
- Administer systems including Ramp, TriNet, Fidelity, and Egencia
- Serve as a resource to finance partners and complete special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 3-5 years of accounting experience including general ledger, AP/accruals, and month-end close
- Strong GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, data analysis)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced startup environments
Desired Qualifications:
- Payroll processing and payroll GL reconciliation experience
- CPA (active or pursuing licensure)
- Public accounting background
- Familiarity with Rillet, Ramp, Box/Dropbox, TriNet, or QBO
